From Melbourne to Vietnam: A New Chapter, One Bite at a Time

It’s official: I’ve moved to Vietnam. After years of working in events, brand-building and community in Melbourne - I’ve packed my life, my notebooks, and my appetite, and landed somewhere that already feels like it’s going to shift everything.

This is the first time I’ve ever lived abroad. It’s exciting, chaotic, a little overwhelming - and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.

🌿 Why Vietnam?

Vietnam has always felt like a magnetic pull. It’s where my roots are, where flavour runs deep, and where the culture of hospitality isn’t just a profession — it’s a way of life.

But this isn’t just a move. It’s a creative reset.

🍽️ Where I’m Coming From

For the past 13+ years, I’ve built, run and collaborated on food and beverage businesses in Melbourne, from boutique dessert brands to launches for global snack companies and curated brand experiences across the country.

Alongside that, I’ve worked in the events world for 15+ years, producing everything from large-scale public festivals and high-end galas to underground pop-ups and cultural campaigns. Hospitality has always been more than work - it’s been my playground, my passion, and my way of connecting.

🍷 What I’m Working On

I'm currently studying WSET Level 2 in wine - and yes, trying very hard not to swirl every glass at dinner. It’s part of a bigger plan: to deepen my knowledge and eventually launch content and experiences that blend wine education with Vietnamese storytelling.

I’ve also started curating Ngocolat.com - a personal editorial platform where I’ll share:

  • Food & bar guides across Vietnam (Melbourne & Asia!)

  • Events I’m curating or just obsessed with

  • Stories of culture, creativity, and connection

  • And eventually… a soft launch of a VIP nightlife concierge business in Ho Chi Minh City 👀

This isn’t a travel blog. It’s not a food directory. It’s a taste-driven journal of the places, people and moments that make this part of the world so damn special. ✈️ What Comes Next?

You’ll see more regular posts on Instagram and here - restaurant and bar features, reflections from wine class, and honest glimpses into what it’s like to build a life and brand from the ground up in a new country.

And Melbourne? Don’t worry. I’ll still be back often — it’s in my bones.

But for now… I’m here.Learning. Sipping. Writing. Exploring.

And I can’t wait to take you with me.
